Re-opening Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will there be screening at the doors?
    • We will not be asking health questions or taking temperatures at the door. We expect that our church family will be respectful and cautious that if you feel any symptoms you will not attend. Also both entrances will be open.
  • When will Services begin?
    • The in-church Morning Services will begin July 19, with our usual 10:30 start for 60-70 minutes with controlled exit immediately after. We are also holding Evening Services over Zoom starting July 19th at the usual 6pm start time and ending at 7pm.
  • What are you defining as the 30% capacity of the Church?
    • The capacity is higher than the distanced seating will allow. We are seating a maximum of 4 (no more than 2 households) every other pew. Therefore some pews may be 2 (1 and 1) or 3 (2 and 1) or 4 (2 and 2). We expect then our limit to be met at less than 40.
  • How many are you expecting to attend?
    • Based on the survey results we can expect to be close to 40 adults and children in the church. We will communicate to anyone who did not respond or does not attend regularly the need for them to RSVP if they plan to attend.
  • How will unexpected access be controlled?
    • The assigned Ushers will be locking the doors at 10:40am. Entry until 10:45 will only be allowed if space is available and the person is known to the church.
  • Will wearing masks be mandatory? As per City of Toronto By-Law 541-020
    • Yes, for all entering the church. We will have a limited supply of 1 use masks available so we strongly encourage all to obtain their own. In addition, all will be required to hand sanitize upon entry.
  • Can we stand and sing along to Praise?
    • For the time being – No. All attendees must remain seated with their masks worn properly.
  • Will we be having Communion?
    • Yes we hope to soon. More to come. .
  • How will Tithes and Offerings be collected?
    • We are planning to have a few “stations” where your envelopes and money can be placed while entering or leaving the service. If you are not able to attend you can mail your envelope to the church or let us know and we can arrange for a Deacon to pick it up.
  • Will other Ministries be available?
    • Until further notice no other ministries will take place in person. This includes Rock Solid Kids and Nursery. All rooms will be locked.
  • Will washrooms be open?
    • Yes, however they will become single use and we ask you to surface clean after your use.
  • Will the Services be streamed?
    • We will not be Streaming (Zoom or other) the Morning Service in the opening weeks. As it is our intention to reach that goal, we will continue to look at costs, options, and ways to overcome technical challenges. We are pleased to announce that the Evening Services will be over Zoom (only).
